Owner reviews are full of "aluminum" sets streaked with rust — from steel bolts. Mixed metals plus coastal moisture also invites galvanic corrosion where dissimilar metals touch. The checklist item: stainless or coated hardware stated in the listing, and on any set, a five-minute yearly walk of the fasteners. It is the cheapest maintenance in the category and the most skipped.
