Lumens (vs Watts)
Lumens measure how much light a source emits; watts measure how much power it draws. LED efficiency broke the old shorthand — a 10W LED can out-shine a 60W incandescent (about 800 lumens). Buy lamps and fixtures by lumens for the job: roughly 1,500–3,000 total for a reading corner, layered from multiple sources rather than one glaring overhead.
